Pool Door Alarm

Having a pool in our backyard is a great way to cool off during the summer and to exercise as much as we want without having people we don’t know surrounding us. It is private and perfect to have when we want to throw a pool party to kick the summer off. However, parents with young children fear that they will become curious and one day try to swim without telling them.

Many children have drowned or almost drowned because there were not enough precautions taken to prevent them from getting close to the pool on their own. Locking the door is not always enough. For better protection you need to install a pool door alarm.

These are more effective at preventing accidents because they are situated on the door leading out to the pool. There are some pool alarms that sit in the water and are triggered when the child falls or jumps in.

It is important to find a pool alarm that can be installed and will trigger when a child walks through the door and closes it behind them. It should stay on at all times and reset itself automatically. This means that there is no on/off switch for the child to tamper with. Make sure that you get a model that can be adapted to the door or screen door. Additional sensors can be purchased if needed.

When the alarm is triggered only the parent will be able to turn it off. The parent will use a pass that will prevent them from triggering the alarm. The alarm that you hear is different from common alarm systems. This makes it easy for the parent to know what is going on immediately. These systems cost between $30 to $120.
